Court / Jail term for breaching bail
A MAN from Lerwick has been given a 60-day prison sentence for breaching bail conditions.
Anthony Jamieson, of Norgaet, previously admitted the breach at a previous hearing at Lerwick Sheriff Court before being remanded in custody.
At Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday during sentencing defence agent Tommy Allan said his client had gone through a change in attitude having undergone a detox in prison after being taken into custody on the matter in July.
He said Jamieson, who appeared from custody via videolink, is “absolutely committed to remaining sober”.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank said the offence was a “deliberate and wilful breach of bail”.
He backdated the prison sentence to when Jamieson first entered custody on the matter on 20 July.
Jamieson was also given a non-harassment order for six months.
