Court / Man fined and given non-harassment order
A MAN from the Western Isles has been fined and given a non-harassment order after admitting leaving 50 voicemails on a woman’s mobile and phoning her place of work.
Malcolm Macleod, of Grabhair, was fined £740 and ordered not to approach or contact the woman, or attempt to, for 12 months at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
The 63-year-old pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of conduct on or between 10 January and 28 January which caused fear or alarm.
Macleod admitted telephoning her place of employment, repeatedly making calls to her phone number and leaving 50 voicemails on her mobile.
On the voice messages he among other things said he loved her.
Macleod carried out the offences at the Sella Ness accommodation facility, Sella Ness, Tagon Stores in Voe and elsewhere in Shetland.
