Court / Dangerous driving costs man dear
A MAN from Scalloway has been fined £840 and given a 12-month driving ban after he admitted driving dangerously.
Scott Young, of Ladysmith Road, pleaded guilty to driving at grossly excessive speeds on a number of stretches of road on 16 May.
The 21-year-old also drove dangerously in the hours of darkness and when the road surface was damp.
Young’s case was heard at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Areas of road covered in the charge included Scalloway, the A971 between Whiteness and Tingwall and the Black Gaet.
Young was given a £820 fine and a £20 victim surcharge penalty.
