Court / High Court upholds appeal against drug supply sentence
A WOMAN who admitted supplying heroin from her house in Lerwick has been released from jail after an appeal against her prison sentence was upheld.
At the High Court last week, Yvonne Duncan, aged 48, was admonished and dismissed.
The appeal was heard by Lord Brodie and Lord Turnbull on 13 March. Their legal opinion will be issued in due course.
The appeal was against the sentence only; Duncan’s conviction was not quashed.
She was sentenced to 15 months in jail at Lerwick Sheriff Court on 15 January.
