Letters / Changed days
I felt nauseous when I heard that Boris Johnson was heading to Sedgefield. Nothing to do with Tony Blair: I found myself thinking about J.R Leslie, MP there from 1935-50, a native of Lerwick. He was far more of a Marxist than any subsequent Labour leader would be; but that kind, calm man didn’t make the media or the electorate foam at the mouth or tremble. Changed days.
