Court / Ex-partner attacker awaits sentence
SENTENCE has been deferred on a man who admitted attacking his ex partner in Lerwick on 5 November.
James Andrew Leaper of Holmsgarth Brae pleaded guilty at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday to squeezing the woman’s neck with his hands, repeatedly seizing her by the hair, causing her to fall against a bucket, wrapping his arms around her neck and causing her to fall to the ground, all to her injury and aggravated by abuse of an ex-partner.
Twenty-four-year-old Leaper also admitted driving a car with no insurance on 27 June at Holmsgarth Brae.
Sentence is deferred on both offences until 16 January.
