Election letters 2019 / Make your mind up
The Labour Party in Orkney and Shetland have taken a decision to keep paper leafletting and plastic poster use to a minimum in this general election.
We will not be putting placards on every lamppost as other parties do and hope you have the sense to decide for yourself on who to vote for.
After the extravagant expenditure in the recent by-election (£67K by the Lib Dems, £99.9K by the SNP) we believe we need to take a more environmentally aware and cost-effective approach.
Yes, Coilla Drake has flown twice to Shetland from Orkney during this campaign but we felt that was important to show the electorate in both island groups that she is willing to hear what you have to say and to give her views at hustings events.
Whoever you decide to vote for, we encourage you to complete the ballot paper for the election on Thursday 12 December.
