News / Police investigate car damage and lead theft

POLICE are looking for information after black spray was used to damage the rear number plate of a vehicle parked in Lerwick.

The incident happened at North Ness at some point between 4.30pm on Sunday and 4pm on Monday.

The police said “mindless damage such as this causes upset and inconvenience to the owner of the vehicle”.

Officers are also investigating the theft of lead from a garden in Lerwick.

Around 150kg of lead flashing of various small sizes was taken from a property on Robertson Crescent within the last week.

Also taken were five rolls of lead approximately 350mm wide and 1,000mm long.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.
