News / Fog disrupts air travel
FLIGHTS to and from Sumburgh Airport were disrupted on Tuesday due to fog.
A mid-morning services flying to and from Aberdeen was cancelled, while the first arrival only touched down just after 12.30pm.
The 8.55am arrival from Edinburgh Airport only landed on Shetland soil at 1.49pm, with the return journey – scheduled for 9.25am – leaving at 2.36pm.
A mid-afternoon arrival from Glasgow, meanwhile, was diverted.
The foggy weather did not provide the best welcome for passengers on two visiting cruise ships in Lerwick, the Viking Jupiter and the Seven Seas Navigator.
