North Sea race yachts arrive in Lerwick
A NUMBER of yachts from the Netherlands have arrived in Lerwick as part of the North Sea Triangle Challenge.
Over 20 competitors in the biennial race, which started in Den Helder in the Netherlands, are expected in the small boat harbour between today (25 June) and Friday.
Yachts have been advised to vacate the small boat harbour pontoons by 6am on Friday to allow cruise ship tender vessels to dock, although they can return after 6pm that evening.
After stopping off in Lerwick the yachts will then sail to Flekkefjord, Norway, before completing the final return leg to Den Helder.
The annual Bergen-Shetland Race, meanwhile, is expected to start arriving into Lerwick from 27 June.
