Court / Abuse man has to work for nothing
A MAN who leaned out a window and abused a neighbour he thought had reported him to police has been given 40 hours unpaid work to do.
Jason Pottinger admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing
Lerwick Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday that Pottinger, 31, of Sandside, Mossbank had believed the woman had reported him for the manner he was driving a motorbike.
She was returning to her address with her 17 year old son when Pottinger took the opportunity to hurl the abuse – an incident described as “extremely distressing” by the procurator fiscal.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank ordered Pottinger to complete the community payback order within three months.
