Court / No bail for man who assaulted ex partner
A YELL man was remanded in custody after pleading guilty in court to assaulting his ex partner on Friday.
Darren Robertson, 51, of Clingrapark, appeared from custody to admit assaulting the woman by seizing her clothing and striking her on the head with his hand at an address on the island on 8 February.
It was the third time he had committed an offence against the same woman, a factor that led honorary sheriff Susan Brunton to deny him bail when he appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday.
The honorary sheriff called for a criminal justice social work report before Robertson appears for sentencing on 24 February.
