News / Police looking for witnesses after fire destroys caravan

A CARAVAN was completely destroyed in a fire next to the Mossbank Shop in the early hours of Friday.

Fire fighters from Brae were called out at just after 02.30am to extinguish what was left of the caravan.

A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said that one hose reel jet and two sets of breathing apparatus were used to tackle the fire. No one was injured.

Police said the caravan was last seen intact at just after midnight. They are looking for witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious or any person(s) in the vicinity of the caravan between 00.15am and 02.25am.

The local police force can be contacted via the 101 telephone number or by calling along Lerwick police station.
