Court / Sentence deferred on embezzler
SENTENCE has been deferred on a woman who admitted embezzling £9,153.33 in state benefits at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Charlotte Jeffrey falsely claimed £1096.58 in income support between 17 September and 30 December 2015 and made a false declaration on 12 January 2016 leading to her netting a further £3226.64 in income support.
Additionally, Jeffrey, of Hill Grind, admitted claiming £4835.19 in housing benefit between 17 September 2015 and 30 July £2017.
The case was adjourned for a criminal social work report and a restriction of liberty assessment.
