A SEVENTY four year old man has been charged with road traffic offences following an accident in Lerwick in which a female pedestrian was injured.
The woman was initially taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital but has since been transferred to the Aberdeen royal Infirmary for treatment to a serious but not life threatening injury.
The road traffic collision involving an Audi A4 happened on Lerwick’s Commercial Road at 5.10pm on Friday afternoon.
The woman is understood to have been hit by the vehicle when crossing the street on a zebra crossing.
