News / 100 years of football on display
Shetland Football Association is marking its centenary this year.
AN EXHIBITION celebrating the centenary of Shetland Football Association is set to be held in Lerwick over the coming weeks.
The display will take place at Da Gadderie at Shetland Museum and Archives between 12 January and 9 February.
Shetland Football Association was formed in 1919 and it currently has nine member clubs.
The exhibition, which was curated by the association, will let people learn about the story behind each club.
It will include photographs, memorabilia and rare items – as well as a reconstruction of a changing room.
The football association runs the Ocean Kinetics Premier League and the reserve league over the summer in addition to the Madrid Cup, the Manson Cup, the Fraser Cup and the County Shield.
The display will be on show Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
