News / Music charity heads north

Advice is on offer for musicians and industry professionals.

The event will take place at Mareel.

A MUSIC charity is heading to Shetland next week to let locals hear more about what it can offer musicians and industry professionals.

A representative from Help Musicians Scotland is holding an event at Mareel in Lerwick on Wednesday (28 November) from 6.30pm to 8pm.

The charity “works to create a sustainable future for all musicians and the industry, supporting those who work in the music sector, offering health and welfare services and creative and professional development through grants and funding”.

They will open with an introduction about the service offered by the charity before a roundtable discussion is held on what additional support musicians and industry workers feel is needed. This would help the charity design a new fund or support project.

Attendees will also learn about volunteering opportunities.

People interested in attending the event can register here.
