Court / Charged with assaulting three women and stealing vehicle
A YOUNG man from Lerwick charged with assaulting three women at an address in the town’s Sandveien housing estate on Saturday and stealing a motor vehicle has been released on bail
Ruairidh James Kavanagh, with an address at Ladies Drive, appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday.
His case was continued without plea until 24 October.
Releasing him, sheriff Ian Cruickshank told the 24-year-old that while on bail he was not allowed to contact any of the three complainers, enter the housing estate or get behind the wheel of a vehicle.
As Kavanagh was led out of the courtroom by two G4S officers, there were shouting from the public benches criticising the quality of the court system.
