News / Man admits possessing indecent images of children
SENTENCE has been deferred on a man who admitted possessing pornographic pictures of children when appearing at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Alvar Foster, 23, pleaded guilty to “taking or permitting to be taken” 88 images and 24 videos on a laptop between 9 and 12 September 2016.
Police uncovered the images while executing a drugs search of Foster’s flat in Market Street, Lerwick.
The computer contained pictures in all three categories of indecent images including some of category A, the most serious classification.
Sentence was deferred for a criminal social work report and a restriction of liberty assessment.
Foster is to be subject to sexual offences notification requirements, but the duration of this would be fixed during sentencing.
