News / Back of the net! Shop wins chocolate World Cup trophy
A CHOCOLATE World Cup trophy was presented to a Lerwick shop this week after a number of local businesses took part in a football-themed competition.
A host of shops were assigned teams playing at the FIFA World Cup and Love From Shetland reigned supreme following France’s victory at the weekend over Croatia, which was represented by the VisitScotland tourist office.
The Commercial Street shop was given a chocolate trophy, made by Mirrie Dancers Chocolatier, as part of the Living Lerwick initiative.
Project manager Emma Miller said that some of the shops had made a “fantastic job of decorating their windows to support their teams” over the last month.
A public competition, which encourages people to collect flag stickers from all of the 32 shops taking part, is open until Friday (20 July).
