A MAN was taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital, in Lerwick, on Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle road accident in Yell.

The crash involving a Vauxhall Corsa and a Land Rover Defender at the turn off to Mid Yell near the wind house was reported to police at 3.40pm.

Two other people in the vehicles suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed until just after 6pm to allow the recovery of the vehicles.
