News / Pod of orcas delays ferry
A MONDAY morning ferry from Ulsta to Toft was slightly delayed due to a rather unusual reason – a pod of orcas.
The 8.45am sailing was held back briefly when a number of curious killer whales were spotted swimming close to the ferry pier in Yell before heading off.
A spokesman for Shetland Islands Council said the Dagalien was able to keep to its timetable.
