News / Glowing report for Lerwick pre-school day care centre
LERWICK pre-school day care centre in King Harald Street has received a glowing report from the Care Inspectorate following an unannounced visit last month.
In all five areas graded in the assessment, the centre received ratings of five out of six.
Inspectors found a caring and supportive environment in which the children thrived.
They also commented on the positive relationship between the centre’s staff, parents and carers.
The report said: “Children were cared for by warm and friendly staff who were dedicated to the service and the children, and put them at the heart of their work.
“We found all staff were genuinely interested in the children’s news and stories, taking time to listen to their comments and valuing their conversations. We saw children were relaxed and comfortable with staff and very happy in their care.
“Lerwick Pre-school had a warm, nurturing and positive atmosphere which was commented on by the parents and carers. We observed the children and saw they were happy and very busy with a wide variety of activities and enjoying their morning.”
