News / Lerwick town centre mascot
LIVING Lerwick is encouraging people to design a mascot which will be used in campaigns for the town centre.
The organisation wants people to come up with a “fun, appealing and loveable” character for its new competition.
It should be representative of Lerwick town centre and have a suitable name.
The winner of the competition will also be given £100 to spend in any of the shops in Lerwick’s business improvement district.
Project manager Emma Miller said: “This is a great opportunity for any young, or experienced, designer to come up with something to introduce a bit of fun into the to the area.
“The scope is fairly wide, but we want something that just symbolises the toon centre when you see it.
“If you know any budding designers, give them the heads up and encourage them to enter to have their work shared with the public.”
Entries need to be submitted by 29 June and details can be found online.
