News / Sheep worrying reminder
LOCALS have been reminded by the police to keep their dogs under control when out walking near areas of livestock to avoid sheep worrying in the lambing season.
Laminated signs are available from the front office at Lerwick Police Station for farmers to attach to their fences to inform people of the lambing season.
Police constable George Owen said that “lambing is important to the rural economy of Shetland and we will be working with our communities to enable farmers to lamb successfully and responsible dog owners to exercise their dogs respectfully.”
