A MAN from Lerwick who brandished a knife as he asked people to leave his house after a night out has been fined £200.
Agron Domi, of Sandveien, pleaded guilty at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at his home address on 25 March.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie said the 35 year old and his partner had been out drinking with friends but ended up coming back to their house at different times.
The fiscal said Domi’s partner had brought people to the house, with the man shouting at them to leave the home.
Domi took a knife from the kitchen and “counted down from the number five”.
Mackenzie said the knife was pointed to the ground and wasn’t directed at anyone.
Defence agent Tommy Allan said the self-employed contractor was not happy with the people being in his home, but he reiterated that there was no intention to use the knife.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank said it was an “ill-informed action”, but he took into account the fact that Domi was a first offender and the nature of the offence before fining him.
