News / Snow closes school
SHETLAND has had some of the better weather over recent weeks but it looks as though snow related disruptions have now arrived in the far north.
Shetland Islands Council confirmed that the school in Whalsay will remain shut today (Wednesday) due to the tricky weather conditions.
Current road conditions around Lerwick, Whiteness and Tingwall have been described as “terrible” by some road users, although conditions further north appear to be better.
