News / MacAulay to return

Comedian Fred MacAulay.

SCOTTISH comedian Fred MacAulay is set to return to Shetland later this year.

The funnyman will perform at Mareel in Lerwick on Friday 15 June, with tickets on sale now. The show will celebrate MacAulay’s 30 years as a stand-up comedian.

While working as a financial accountant and company secretary in 1988, MacAulay decided to take part in a stand-up competition in Glasgow – and the rest is history.

He is known for mixing satire and observational comedy, and he last performed in Shetland in 2016.

The comedian – who the Sunday Times once called “one of the funniest men alive” – has appeared on numerous TV shows such as QI and Have I Got News For You in addition to touring the world.
