News / Aberdeen ferry sailing delay
SEA conditions are continuing to affect the schedule of Serco NorthLink’s passenger vessels running between Aberdeen and Lerwick.
MV Hrossey’s scheduled 7pm departure from Aberdeen has been put back four hours and she is now expected to sail for Lerwick at 11pm.
MV Hjaltland arrived in Lerwick Harbour several hours late on Friday lunchtime and is due to set off for Kirkwall and Aberdeen at 5pm, but due to swell and tidal conditions her arrival is expected to be delayed until 10am on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Sumburgh Airport has been open for business with relatively minor delays on two of the three flights that have arrived from Aberdeen on Friday morning.
Arrivals from Edinburgh and Glasgow are running several hours late as staff at the central belt airports work to clear runways following more heavy snowfall.
