SCOTTISH Ballet is looking to hold workshops and talks for all ages and abilities when it visits Shetland in April.
The company will bring its full production Highland Fling to the Clickimin in Lerwick on 21/22 April as part of a Highlands and Islands tour.
But locals are now set to get a chance to learn more about ballet – and try it out for themselves.
Scottish Ballet’s education team is currently contacting groups and individuals in the view of holding talks, classes and workshops for the likes of parents and toddler groups, schools, 60+ groups, dementia groups and community groups.
Workshops for secondary pupils and older participants will run on themes from Matthew Bourne’s Highland Fling, while younger locals will link in with The Nutcracker.
Scottish Ballet dancers will also be available to hold motivational talks at secondary schools, while other talks could include an in-depth look at the behind-the-scenes work on Highland Fling, as well as a day in the life of a dancer.
It will also hold sessions for absolute beginners who want to try out ballet for the first time.
