News / Isles drug raids
HEROIN worth an estimated £20,000 has been recovered from a house in Lerwick as part of a series of drug raids carried out by police in Shetland over the last week.
Two men aged 37 and 30, as well as a woman aged 39, have all been charged separately and will appear at Lerwick Sheriff Court in due course.
Officers worked with Dogs Against Drugs to undertake the house searches and other quantities of class A and B drugs were found during the operation.
Chief inspector Lindsay Tulloch said: “We are dedicated to disrupting the supply of illegal drugs bound for our communities in Shetland.
“We have excellent working relations with our partners, such as Dogs Against Drugs who help us tackle this problem.
“We do not tolerate the supply of drugs and neither should the people of Shetland. Anyone with information which could help us remove more drugs from the streets should call us directly on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
