News / Ferry delay warning
STRONG northerly winds are likely to slow down Serco NorthLink’s northbound service, the ferry operator has warned.
The Hjaltland is due to leave Aberdeen harbour on Thursday as scheduled but is expected into Kirkwall three hours late.
The passenger vessel is estimated to arrive at Lerwick two hours late at around 9.30am on Friday.
The timetable of the southbound service is not affected by the weather, but the cargo boat’s journey north has been cancelled.
Meanwhile, the strong winds in combination with high tides have led to some coastal flooding on Thursday morning – see video.
