POLICE IN Shetland have renewed their advice to motorists to take extra care and allow for longer journey times as snow and ice continue to affect local roads.
Cars went off the road in minor incidents in Voe and near Sandwick on Friday morning.
Sumburgh Airport, meanwhile, was initially closed on Friday morning while staff worked to clear the runway of snow and ice.
An early Loganair flight from Aberdeen had to be diverted to Kirkwall, but the mail plane landed at 10am.
A spokeswoman for Shetland Islands Council said that all main routes have been treated and are passable with care.
