DRIVERS are being warned to take care on the roads over the next 48 hours due to the potential for black ice.

Shetland Islands Council’s roads service said light rain is expected to fall on roads which could be as low as minus five degrees celsius in temperature.

While roads will be salted and gritted, drivers are advised to take particular care.
