News / Roseanne shortlisted for poetry prize
A SHETLAND poet has been nominated for an international literary prize.
Roseanne Watt, who lives in Edinburgh, has been shortlisted for the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award for her poem The Moth.
She said she was “utterly stunned” to be nominated for the award, which will be given out this month alongside a cash prize.
“I wrote the poem during an artist in residency last year at the RSPB Mersehead nature reserve, in Dumfries and Galloway,” Roseanne said.
“The piece will be also be published in an anthology this December alongside the other shortlisted poems.”
Roseanne recently performed back in Shetland as part of the Neu Reekie! event at this year’s Wordplay festival.
