News / SIC wants your views

SHETLAND Islands Council is asking the public for feedback on its services and its communication.

An online survey is open until Friday 15 December for people to share their views, while a paper version is also available.

The local authority is keen to hear people’s experiences in areas like how they are treated when they contact the SIC and how it deals with complaints.

Deputy leader Steven Coutts said the results should allow the SIC to “see what we are doing right, what we can do better, and how we could change the way we interact with our service users”.

“The survey will be repeated every few years, which would mean that we could chart our improvement against past performance, which is again a great way of gauging how we’re doing,” he added.

Paper copies of the survey can be collected in Lerwick from the Town Hall, Hayfield House, Shetland Library and 3 and 6 North Ness Business Park.

It is also available from schools and ferries across the isles.
