News / Ferry to leave Aberdeen early

SERCO NorthLink’s northbound sailing from Aberdeen will leave three hours earlier than scheduled on Tuesday evening – while two planned freight sailings have been cancelled.

Mv Hrossey had been due to sail from Aberdeen to Lerwick at 7pm, but due to the forecast of bad weather it will now depart at 4pm instead. Check-in will be from 2.30pm until 3.30pm.

Meanwhile, the sailings of freight vessels MV Arrow, which had been due to leave Aberdeen for Kirkwall and Lerwick at 5pm on Tuesday, and MV Hildasay, due to depart Lerwick for Aberdeen at 6pm, have both been cancelled.

After a calmer spell of weather, the wind is forecast to be gusting upwards of 50mph overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday.
