News / Ferry disruption expected

SERCO NorthLink is warning passengers of probable disruption to its ferry services on Tuesday and Wednesday due to the weather forecast.

MV Hrossey’s scheduled 7pm sailing from Aberdeen to Lerwick on Tuesday is under review with a “high possibility” of an earlier departure. A bulletin issued on Monday teatime advised that a further update will follow on Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile freight vessels MV Arrow, which is due to sail from Aberdeen to Kirkwall and Lerwick at 5pm on Tuesday, and MV Hildasay, due to depart Lerwick for Aberdeen at 6pm, are also both under review.

After a calmer spell of weather, the wind is forecast to be gusting upwards of 50mph overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday.
