News / Lifeboat collects injured fisherman
THE LERWICK lifeboat was tasked on Monday afternoon to collect an injured man from a fishing vessel about 25 miles east of Shetland.
The fisherman was taken from the Asteria with a minor hand injury by boat instead of being flown by the coastguard helicopter due to the location of the vessel.
He was then taken to Lerwick’s Gilbert Bain Hospital at around 7pm, with the call initially coming in at 3pm.
