SHETLAND Home Co has received a national certification administered by Zero Waste Scotland which promotes the high quality re-use of goods.

The COPE Ltd business – which is formerly known as the Scrapstore – has been working over the last year towards gaining the Revolve certification.

Business manager Louise Watson said customers can now have “increased confidence that re-use items are prepared for sale within current health, safety and trading standards”.

Shetland Home Co is a social enterprise which re-uses and recycles household items with the aim of reducing waste.

“We follow strict processes to ensure high standards and confidence in our re-used goods,” Watson added.

“The Revolve process has increased professionalism in our service, and we are committed to excellent customer service and continuous review and improvement. Since we started working towards gaining the title we have seen a boost in trade.”
