News / Denies knife charges
A MAN accused of attempting to strike another man on the face with a knife has been remanded in custody after appearing at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday.
Trevor Couper, of Grampian Prison, appeared from custody to deny assaulting a man at an address on Lerwick’s Hoofields on 12 July, presenting a knife and attempting to strike him.
The 24 year old also pled not guilty to possessing a kitchen knife at a public place at Hoofields on the same date.
Defence agent Tommy Allan said his client maintained that he wasn’t there at the time and has an alibi.
The case was continued to a trial on 6 November.
