News / Isles nods at tourism awards
THERE are two Shetland related nominations in this year’s Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards.
Sharing Shetland, a group devised by former hotel proprietor Veronica Rocks which aims to promote isles businesses and events on a wider scale, is nominated in the working together for tourism category.
It will go head to head with The Shetland Times in the same category, with The Malt Whisky Trail, Aberlour and Visit Inverness Loch Ness also due to vie for the award.
This year’s Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards will take place in Inverness on 3 November.
Fellow Northern Isles Orkney has nominations for the best bar/pub, best outdoor/adventure experience and best visitor attraction prizes.
