News / Noss boat tour company nominated for RSPB award

A SHETLAND based boat tour company has been nominated for this year’s RSPB Nature of Scotland Awards.

Shetland Seabird Tours, which takes people around Noss, has been shortlisted in the nature tourism category.

The winners of this year’s awards will be revealed at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh on 23 November.

The company offers daily wildlife trips to Noss from April until October to showcase the resident wildlife, including the colony of 25,000 breeding gannets.

A spokesperson said: “We are the only naturalists and conservationists operating wildlife boat tours on Shetland.

“Our trips engage and enthuse the public about the wildlife around them in a highly visually stimulating boat trip experience, carefully designed to ensure a lot of fun and enjoyment alongside a deep running passion to educate and promote the birds and sea mammals of Shetland to a wide audience.”
