News / Police seek information

POLICE are looking to speak to anyone with a boat who may have had their vessel entangled by ropes in an area off Bressay in recent weeks.

They are keen to hear from anyone who may have been around the east side of Noss between 29 July and 10 August.

Meanwhile, officers have received a report of alleged careless overtaking which is said to have taken place in the south mainland on Thursday.

The incident is alleged to have happened at 2.30pm on the A970 between Channerwick and Sandwick as a yellow/gold Renault Megane overtook a silver taxi and a small brown hatchback.

Officers are also looking to hear from a driver of a Fiat 500 which is said to have been oncoming at the time.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lerwick Police Station on 101 or visit in person. Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
