News / Casualties transferred south after crash
THREE people have been transferred to hospitals on the Scottish mainland following a two-vehicle road accident near Voe in the early hours of Saturday morning.
One person was flown to hospital in Glasgow on Saturday while two were transferred to Aberdeen.
The remaining casualty is in a stable condition at Lerwick’s Gilbert Bain Hospital.
The incident happened at around 2.30am and emergency services were quickly on the scene.
Three fire appliances attended and crew used cutting gear to remove four people from the vehicles. They were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The A970 road between Voe and Brae was closed until Saturday afternoon.
