News / Disabled graduate scheme looking for local applicants
A SCHEME which could see disabled graduates becomes trainees with NHS Shetland is open for applications.
Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living’s equality academy is looking for a further 22 people to embark on traineeships with health boards across Scotland.
The organisation “specialises in providing disabled people employment by addressing barriers that could be preventing them from gaining sustainable professional work”.
The salaried traineeships last for up to two years and they will be tailored to the career aspirations of the successful candidates.
Departments in the NHS which may feature in the scheme include communications, finance, human resources, IT, marketing and project management.
Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living’s equality academy attempted to recruit trainees in Shetland two years ago, but there was no response.
National development manager John Speirs said the programme “provides exciting employment opportunities” within NHS Scotland boards.
The closing date for application is 18 August. Find out more information here.
