Letters / Protecting the environment?
Your headline MP signs pledge to protect environment post Brexit (SN, 18/07/17) and the article which followed made interesting reading.
Can this be the same Alistair Carmichael who has been pleading with the government for the destruction of large areas of unspoilt Shetland?
His desire to cover many parts of our isles with thousands of tonnes of concrete and steel, new roads and quarries is not my idea of protecting the environment.
Mr Carmichael would do well to remember his many constituents whose environment will be destroyed should the Viking Energy project go ahead.
Frankly, folk are getting sick of his Janus impersonation.
