News / Oil installation evacuated
THREE coastguard helicopters, including Rescue 900 based at Sumburgh, were involved in evacuating 76 non-essential personnel from the Bruce oil platform following a power failure.
The coastguard was alerted to the incident on the installation to the east of Shetland just after 8pm on Thursday.
The personnel were flown to neighbouring oil installations while 45 workers remained on the Bruce platform to restore power.
