News / Scalloway Hotel wins again

Celebrating another award for Scalloway Hotel are (left to right): TV presenter Carol Smilie, owner Peter Mackenzie, Scalloway Hotel employees Akshay Borges and Adel Smith, owner Caroline Mackenzie and author Roddy Martine.

SCALLOWAY Hotel has added another accolade to its growing collection by winning the informal hotel restaurant award at this year’s Scottish Hotel Awards at the ceremony in Glasgow on Sunday.

The team, who was named Scottish independent hoteliers of the year at the 2016 event, said they were “so chuffed” to win.

In January Scalloway Hotel collected a trio of prizes in the Highlands, Islands and North East section of the regional Scottish Hotel Awards.

The business, which is run by Caroline and Peter Mackenzie, became the first hotel in Scotland to become an accredited living wage employer when it signed up to the scheme last year.
