News / County win for darts ladies
THERE were mixed fortunes for Shetland’s leading darts players in Orkney at the end of last week – with the women emerging triumphant and the men losing out in their respective inter-county clashes.
The Lerwick Ladies won a closely-fought match over their Kirkwall counterparts at the town’s Royal British Legion on Friday night. Theresa Wadley hit the double to give Lerwick a 12-9 victory.
Winning captain Beverley Lamming accepted the trophy for Lerwick and thanked the Kirkwall Ladies for their hospitality.
The men, meanwhile, lost 11-7 on Friday in a match played at the Kirkwall Masonic.
